Ícaro de Castro Mello, arquiteto, foi o grande destaque do atletismo, sendo Campeão Brasileiro e Sul Americando de Salto em Altura e Decatlo, de 1930 à 1945, representando o nosso País em Berlim, nos Jogos Olímpicos de 1936.Introduziu a arquitetura esportiva no Brasil projetando clubes, piscinas, ginásios e estádios que se transformaram em verdadeiros marcos em suas cidades, nos quais os mais destacados ídolos do esporte nacional e internacional que nos visitam continuam brilhando.
